Lilly Direct's Benefits Verification training was dependent on access to a paid eAccess portal. This restricted large-scale or repeated training, as each usage incurred additional costs, making it unsustainable for onboarding and refresher training across teams.
I was assigned to design an interactive simulation that accurately replicated the eAccess portal and its associated workflows. The goal was to allow employees to practice verifying benefits without relying on the live system, thereby reducing dependency and cost.
Using Storyline 360, I created a fully interactive simulation of the E-Access portal that walked learners through realistic patient scenarios. Employees were required to:
Decide whether Benefits Verification should be initiated based on the scenario,
Navigate a simulated E-Access interface to perform verification steps,
And finally, record their calls on the ACTICS PRM platform as they would in real-world conditions.
The training also included branching dialogue simulations to mimic live patient calls, with AI VoiceOvers to enhance realism.
The simulation became a cost-effective, scalable solution, eliminating the need for repeated paid portal access during training. Employees could train confidently, reducing both- costs and errors in real patient interactions. The client was highly satisfied, and the model is now used for onboarding all Lilly Direct hires.
